We open up once again onto Edward Sands. He sits in the same office like setting we saw him before with the EHW (Edward’s Headliner Wrestling) banner hanging behind him. A smile on his face as he stares into the camera.
“Did you all enjoy it last week? Did you like the entertainment I brought each and every last one of you in what is already being called the greatest match of the year here in Edward’s Headliner Wrestling. Well you should feel honored that I graced you with that much effort. However I will admit one thing, Mr. Whitman you surprised me. That’s right, Edward Sands is giving notice toward someone else.”
Sands holds up his hand as if stopping a question.
“Now before you all start asking ‘But Edward doesn‘t this go against what you said the other day? That the EHW has nothing to offer you.’”
Ed scratches his chin.
“Yes I said that, and yes I still believe it. Max Whitman said it himself. He’s like me in the fact that this place is below him. This place is another footnote. The difference between us is, that Max Whitman has a lot more ring rust on him then I do. I’m a well polished pot and Whitman is a rusty old kettle, so while I might not be here to win championships or make everyone else better or more money. I have found a kindred spirit among the meek and worthless. Max, last week was a test…and you have passed earning the honors of being part of Edward’s Headliner Wrestling. I promise to make you the champion you once where. I promise that I will pull you up from being just another washed up has-been and rebuild you back into a man that could do anything he wants. I will do this for you Max, even if I have to destroy everything about who you currently are to do it.”
Sands begins to stand up from his desk then pauses and sits back down.
“Oh right, I nearly forgot. This week I’m not facing you Max. No instead this week we get to team together and face the Goodwill Brothers or something. Listen I’m happy I impressed the both of you, it’s something to build on and believe someday you could contain even the smallest amount of talent that I am graced with. However this weekend I don’t need you to be standing on your feet and I don’t expect to see it either. What I expect and can promise to see, is you flat on your back, looking up at the lights as I walk to the back. Short answer, I have no plans of joining the American Library Association with you…besides why are you even part of the American Library Association, you’re from Canada. Nothing wrong with being from Canada or nothing…”
He leans in closer and begins to whisper.
“It’s only America’s weakling little brother and all. Don’t tell the Miss I said that, she might be a little angry with me.”
Ed leans back again in the chair.
“I can’t speak for Max, not yet anyways. But if he’s half the man I think he is, he won’t let what I did to him last week allow himself to suffer another loss at the hands of a couple Northern North America’s. However if he does wish to try and punish me for dropping him on his head post match…then I guess I’ll just have to beat all three of you this week as well. Feel a little special, you have a chance to be a footnote in my climb to the bigger things in life.”
Fade to Black.
